A Knight's Tale
William Thatcher, a knight's peasant apprentice, gets a chance at glory when the knight dies suddenly mid-tournament. Posing as a knight himself, William won't stop until he's crowned tournament champion—assuming matters of the heart don't get in the way. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale is Heath Ledger's best role and I will not be debating it. A Knight's Tale is also basically a perfect movie. I will not be debating that either.
unlabelledView post →I can't say that A Knight's Tale is the favorite medieval movie of all medievalists, but that's because some medievalists are wrong.
unlabelledView post →I HAVE BEEN BULLIED. We are finally watching A Knight's Tale 🗣️
unlabelledView post →"A Knight's Tale," released May 2001, is the last movie of the 1990s
unlabelledView post →I think I zeroed in on why medieval historians love this movie so much. I think part of it is because A Knight's Tale doesn't romanticize peasantry and poverty. It acknowledges that being poor and powerless sucked all the ass and that it was good to try and rise above it. That's refreshing.

unlabelledView post →Our (ir)regular weekly movie (first one in a while!) choice for this week has been A Knight's Tale. Which I haven't seen in aaaaages and has been so much fun.
unlabelledView post →The greatest historical film of all time is A Knight's Tale.
unlabelledView post →It doesn't get much better than A Knight's Tale. Paul Bethany, Mark Addy, Alan Tudyk, and of course Heath Ledger at his prettiest. The movie obviously has some anachronisms but the vibe is right!
unlabelledView post →This week's family movie was A Knight's Tale, and honestly, I'd forgotten just how fun and clever it is! Best Chaucer ever.
unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale is the only historically accurate movie
unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale is the only good sports movie
unlabelledView post →What's your favourite Sunday night movie, and why is it A Knight's Tale?
unlabelledView post →Just stumbled into the last 15 minutes of "A Knight's Tale," just an endlessly delightful and rewatchable movie. I've heard Wat tell William, "Your father heard that," 9,000 times, and I've never not teared up, and I never will.
unlabelledView post →Watched A Knight's Tale for the first time and y'all were right, it's a great movie

unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale is such a comfort movie for me.
unlabelledView post →I think you'll find the perfect movie was already made. A KNIGHT'S TALE.
unlabelledView post →Daaamn. Paul Bettany gave it his absolute all in "A Knight's Tale." I feel sorry for everyone who only knows him as Vision. It's a fine performance but his Geoffrey Chaucer is ART!!! with mandatory capital letters and the three exclamation marks. I should rewatch this film. youtu.be/XdqvJbh8eeM&...

unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale was released 25 years ago today. It's a movie that has no business being as much fun as it is.
unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale just came on the telly and I'm trying not to cry because omg I fucking love this movie but I haven't seen it in so long and Heath Ledger 🥺😭💖
unlabelledView post →What on earth could you possibly do to us? I will eviscerate you in fiction. Every last pimple, every last character flaw. I was naked for a day. You will be naked for eternity. (Fictionalization of Chaucer in A Knight's Tale; definitely worth watching, such a great film)
unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale is my absolute favourite fake medieval movie because it gets the vibe so right :)
unlabelledView post →Started rewatching A Knight's Tale. A fun, dumb movie.
unlabelledView post →Medievalists! Have I got a new movie clip to teach for you! Possibly the most medieval lit clip since A Knight's Tale. Strap in:
unlabelledView post →I watched A Knight's Tale last night. Cried a lot, made a lot of posts. Ultimately, it's a movie about hope and hope is something we sorely need right now.
unlabelledView post →Watched "A Knight's Tale" this evening, what an excellent film! Don't know how I missed seeing it before. Heath Ledger as the lead character alongside a host of other fantastic actors. The whole movie is just brilliantly put together!
unlabelledView post →A Knight's Tale, and yes, it is absolutely a sports movie.
unlabelledView post →I first learned of sin eaters from the 2003 film The Order. Pretty much the director and cast of A Knight's Tale decided to make a second film together. Fantastically good premise but almost an achievement in how boring it was.
unlabelledView post →This movie holds up in every single way possible. I'm not listening to A Knight's Tale slander
unlabelledView post →"Mayze" is over. I survived my corn marathon. (But not unscathed.) I am a changed man. I forgot I watched a Knight's Tale this last month as well - what a fun film! #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #FilmSky 🎥Nostradouglas on Letterboxd
unlabelledView post →The problem with most movies is that they're focus group driven board member tested middle of the road storytelling instead of being A Knight's Tale (2001). And I don't mean LIKE A Knight's Tale (2001), I mean it is already a perfect movie, why would you make others
unlabelledView post →But that's why A Knight's Tale is every medievalist's favorite historical film. Every change it makes from history, it does so with the purpose of staying true to the feeling of the time so modern audiences would get the vibes without lengthy infodumps. But you can tell they did the work.
unlabelledView post →Name a movie where every single person can get it: A Knight's Tale
unlabelledView post →Just finished watching A Knight's Tale for the first time after a few years removed... I still have most of the dialogue memorized and this remains one of my fave dance scenes in a film. Also, I miss Heath Ledger 🥺 youtu.be/yygNdTxoHus?...
unlabelledView post →Today, Movie Slate calls out one of her friends - tmblr.co/ZB69gvf7PTCV... It's understandable, A Knight's Tale is a good movie. #WebComic #Pony #Unicorn #MLP
unlabelledView post →For another, I take a more...vibes approach to "historical accuracy". One of my favorite historical films is A Knight's Tale because, while it's full of anachronisms, they're there to serve a purpose in bringing the FEELING of the era to the film. Esp. when they show their research in small details.
unlabelledView post →Once again watching the most perfect sports film ever made - A Knight's Tale
unlabelledView post →Catching up with a Heath Ledger film that I haven't seen before... #NowWatching 📽️ - A Knight's Tale (2001) Dir. Brian Helgeland
unlabelledView post →Seriously though, A Knight's Tale is incredibly silly but harmlessly fun movie if you don't know much about history, but the more you learn about history the better it gets because of the easter eggs.
unlabelledView post →What if the 'Legend of Zelda' movie has needle drops of modern music like the 'Super Mario Bros.' movie and they play it off the way 'A Knight's Tale' did
unlabelledView post →Thank you for the perspective. I think Visma and Jonas are doing everything they can, just up against an opponent who is impossible to beat. I am proud of them for trying. Reminds me of a scene from the film A Knight's Tale about how to beat an unbeatable opponent. Sadly no clip. 🙁
unlabelledView post →I love that movie, the same way I love A Knight's Tale and The Mummy and Galaxy Quest.
