Critics, per Wikipedia
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 8% of 38 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 2.4/10. The website's consensus reads: "Sloppy, vulgar, and manic, A Haunted House 2 might be worth a chuckle or two, but mostly it's a string of pop culture references and crude gags that fail to hit their intended targets." Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 17 out of 100, based on 16 critics, indicating "overwhelming dislike". Bruce Demara of the Toronto Star gave the film half a star out of four, saying "It is a vile, wretched, appalling waste of time, a movie for morons that is offensive on so many levels. All unwatchable garbage. And if you can't be funny, just make hideously offensive bits and claim you're "edgy."

Not that SCM5 is any good - it and SCM4 are the worst of the bunch. I see SCM6 is in development. Why? It's just lucky Disaster Movie was from 2008 as that is the nadir of the "X Movie" films, worse even than 2007's Epic Movie (which managed to be worse than Meet the Spartans from 2008).

unlabelledView post →Really hoping Scary Movie is decent, but it's not directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans and instead by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, A Haunted House 2, and Fifty Shades of Black). 😭

unlabelledView post →Really good watch, could watch again, and can recommend. I'll easily watch anything with Jaime Lee Pressly in it, but Marlon Wayans is kind of the big treat in this. One of the reasons I liked the first movie is that they got back to the spirit of the original "Scary Movie" franchise before they took it from the Wayans. There are a few jokes that just run too long, but over all the jokes are pretty funny and consistent, even doing call backs. The movie rolls together several different…
