I was watching the 1st part of Sad Temptation from 1999, & this video came up, which discusses a lot about production, censorship, & distribution of LGBTQ+ kdrama content. It's interesting to consider this video's timeline/comments alongside the explicit movie, A Frozen Flower, released in 2008.

I just finished A Frozen Flower (2008 movie), thanks to recommendation from @daebakpodcast.bsky.social So good, but I had to enter my pin to access adult subject matter, and it is adult. I enjoyed it but you’ll get no spoilers from me.

Korean period dramas don't always have sex scenes, but when they do, they make soft porn. Watching a movie called A Frozen Flower and seeing the Chief to the king's guard turning the king and the queen every which way but loose

It was directed by Yoo Ha - Marriage Is a Crazy Thing (2002), A Dirty Carnival (2006), A Frozen Flower (2008), Howling (2012), and Gangnam Blues (2015) and became the third highest-grossing Korean film of the year and fifth overall.

Right? These two are not afraid of steam & intimate scenes. If I were an actor, & it was on Netflix, I'd take the chance to go for it & break the field open. Jo in Sung did it in A Frozen Flower (of course, a movie), but it doesn't seem like it negatively affected his career, but maybe Ik not of it.
