A Christmas Carol
Miser Ebenezer Scrooge is awakened on Christmas Eve by spirits who reveal to him his own miserable existence, what opportunities he wasted in his youth, his current cruelties, and the dire fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways. Scrooge is faced with his own story of growing bitterness and meanness, and must decide what his own future will hold: death or redemption. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →Johnny Depp in a dark gritty reboot prequel of a Christmas Carol is the kind of thing you'd put in another movie as a joke about how Hollywood has got no ideas left. The fact that it got greenlit and people went along with it is, genuinely, everything that's wrong with Hollywood.

unlabelledView post →Speaking as the daughter of a market researcher for movies—not a great campaign. A Christmas Carol IS the story of his life before he became a miser. And Scrooge is his last name. He’s always been Scrooge. This tells you nothing new and different about this movie.
unlabelledView post →Hearing the Johnny Depp Scrooge movie is just a straight adaption of A Christmas Carol with weird marketing makes it even more hilarisad Buddy, A Muppet Christmas Carol already exists, we don't need you

unlabelledView post →So now they're naming a Christmas Carol movie Ebenezer? You know what, there's a Christmas Carol movie called Scrooge. It stars Albert Finney, with songs by the great Leslie Bricusse. That's the one to watch.
unlabelledView post →i had a beautiful hardback, illustrated version of A Christmas Carol with the original text, that I read all winter growing up. The George C. Scott version of the story is a movie I have seen more than any other; it's a Grimes family staple. I hate seeing this easy story fucked up!
unlabelledView post →There's a collection of posts extolling the virtues of the Muppet Christmas Carol which is, I do not deny, an excellent adaptation of "A Christmas Carol". But it involves negatives for reading the actual story and pros for watching the movie and I know it is funny jokes time but.
unlabelledView post →A Christmas Carol is my favorite work of classic literature. Every Christmas I watch and review different variations, including weird and obscure film versions. Everytime directors go the "shitty rich people are very nuanced actually" Its BAD. Its ALWAYS BAD. www.avclub.com/scrooge-gray...

We read this every Xmas when I was a child and we’ve continued this in my now family. Scrooge is not misunderstood. One of the themes is that Scrooge is 🧵

She also appeared with her parents, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart, in the 1938 film A Christmas Carol. #RIP
