unlabelledView post →Fun fact about "21 Bridges": after they close the bridges about 20 minutes into the movie, they do not feature in the plot at all. Also, there are not 21 bridges
unlabelledView post →21 Bridges (2019) was Chadwick Boseman's last movie released before his death. It's a police chase film set in NYC, where two crooks steal a load of cocaine, realize crooked cops were guarding it, and flee as Boseman tracks them down. Pretty basic but the actors try their best to elevate the script

unlabelledView post →One of the last movies w Chdwick Boseman, [ 21 Bridges ]. The last high drama, climax of the film; a dirty kill ! Detective Andre Davis, Boseman, talks the killer into giving him the gun; but his partner shoots the guy in the back . Dubiously, protecting the organization Defined, is good & bad cop

And then the answer, complete w/the reason, came to me. A film I am very familiar with & a story fit for our times. "21 Bridges"
unlabelledView post →the tension building is done so well that it still was able to build it within its predictability. This is a strong rebound for Brian Kirk following a forgettable movie in '21 Bridges'. Objectively 5/10. Personally 6.5/10. (2/2) Full review: letterboxd.com/rooke2011/fi...

unlabelledView post →It's a testament to Boseman's talent that he could elevate a premise such as 21 Bridges,a film you have already seen precisely 1000 times, and give it a level of gravitas and sturdiness that is far above it's fighting weight. But also, like, why does the entirety of the NYPD have Boston accent??

unlabelledView post →A very good action thriller. '21 Bridges' has an excellent showing from Chadwick Boseman, everything else isn't quite up to his level though is all still very good. The support cast, which includes the likes of J. K. Simmons and Taylor Kitsch, pacing and music are my main pluses for this 2019 flick. It's far from perfect of course, but I personally I got what I wanted from it and would happily watch it again.
positive · AI labelView post →Exhilarating, powerful, edge-of-your-seat. Chadwick Boseman was amazing. Don't get why there's a lot of negativity about this film - it was superb. Combined with a well laid out storyline, amazing cast, background music and produced by the director of Avengers Endgame!
positive · AI labelView post →Some neato throwback vibes in this moderately enjoyable and very predictable crime thriller. Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole.
neutral · AI labelView post →Andre Davis (Chadwick Boseman) is the NYPD detective tasked with the case of two criminals who kill several police officers during a drug heist. The deaths enrage an entire precinct, and the captain (J.K. Simmons) now has a bunch of trigger-happy cops thirsting for revenge. He decides to pair Andre with a DEA agent (Sienna Miller). But the incident also uncovers a conspiracy, and Andre doesn’t know whom to trust. He has just one night to solve the case and catch the killers before they escape…
